Captivate Audiences with Show Stopping Event Documentaries
Imagine your event immortalized on
screen. . .
Every moment captured with
cinematic precision and passion.
In this example. . .
It's the
Hobbyking U.S. Youtube Channel
That comes to life. . .
I thrive on the spontaneity of run-and-
gun documentaries.
Capturing live moments, transforming
reality into movie scenes—that’s my
favorite thing to do.
"Jose's documentaries often feel as if he has multiple cameras in an event when it's only him."
If I do multiple cameras, it’s fantastic, but on my own I know how to create
the illusion of multiple cameras.
Hobbyking faced a challenge creating engaging content for their U.S. audience...
. . .despite their pilots crisscrossing the country in a branded RV.
That's where I came in.
This year-long project making content for Hobbyking blended my love
for filmmaking with my old passion for RC toys.
It was a dream come true and it served as immersive training for my
documentary eye.
Traveling alongside HobbyKing's pilots in their RV, I captured events
across the states, producing daily YouTube videos for weeks.
It was dynamic, demanding work.
From competitive RC plane shows to laid-back camping events, each
day brought new adventures to film, and I captured, edited and put out videos daily.
"At HobbyKing HQ, they thought Jose was making the guys act. They thought he was staging jokes because the content was so funny."
The secret to my success with these types of videos?
Constant filming. And I mean constant. The videos were funny
because the guys were funny when they were comfortable, I filmed all
the time!
When you’re behind the lens non-stop, magic happens. People get
used to it quickly. They relax into themselves again.
This is a skill not every filmmaker has, and one that is not to be taken for granted.
You have to be able to put subjects at ease so they can forget you are there in the first place.
