Bruno Mars Makes One Of The Most Inspiring Speeches Ever And EVERYONE Should Hear This!

Bruno Mars is not the first person who comes to mind when I think of people who inspire me.  In fact, he doesn’t even make my long list.  Although, if I’m being honest, some of the most inspiring people I discovered have been those I never saw coming, like mega actor Will Smith or funnyman Jim Carrey.  But no matter how I felt about Bruno Mars’ ability (or inability) to be an inspiration, it all flew out the window when I saw his appearance on Ellen.  This particular episode aired shortly after he headlined the Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2014 (if you need a reminder, I’ve included the full performance, below).  He, of course, entertained the audience, but when Ellen asked him about the extreme backlash he received after the announcement of his halftime performance, in response, Bruno Mars makes one of the most inspiring speeches ever!

His speech is so powerful, I wanted to share it with you, in fact, EVERYONE should hear it.  If anyone is having a hard time pursuing their dreams, and receiving an intense amount of friction, take a deep breath.  Anyone who ever achieved greatness in the history of the world went through it.  But the key is coming out on the other side, and if you need a little push, this is for you!

Bruno Mars’ Full Super Bowl Halftime Show, 2014

After watching this halftime show, there is no way anyone could ever walk away thinking that Bruno Mars is anything but deserving of the opportunity to perform during that coveted slot.  He brought it in every way possible, and had the crowd activated through each and every song.  But did you know that there were a lot of people who tried to bring him down and keep him from performing?  There was even an article in the New York Times dedicated to all the reasons why Bruno Mars should not get that opportunity.  It is pretty unbelievable, especially in hindsight.

Bruno Mars’ Hurdle

But if we look at Bruno Mars’ credentials, up to the point right before his Super Bowl performance, it would not be surprising if many people sided with that New York Times article.  At that moment in time, Bruno Mars had only two albums to his name and just 4 years prior to that, he made his very first television appearance on Ellen as a musical guest.  So it is no wonder why people were trying to make a case against him.

Despite the fact that Bruno Mars was a Grammy-Award Winning artist at that time, it was still unheard of for someone who had only been in the game for four years to take such a monumental step in their career.  The people who have been in his shoes before him were people like Beyoncé, Destiny’s Child, Sting, Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake, and the list goes on and on — all mega titans in the music industry.  But like anything excellent rising to the top, there is always going to be friction.

“It Always Gets Darkest Right Before Dawn”

Have you ever heard of the quote “it always gets darkest right before dawn?”  Well, that’s the essence of anything and everything that is fighting for their rightful spot at the top.  No matter who you are or what level you are on, you will always get haters, negative naysayers and everything in between, when you’re about to reach greatness.  And that’s just what Bruno Mars had to deal with.  But he went one step further, he took the opportunity to do what Steve Martin’s famous quote says,

And that’s just what he did.  He received rave reviews and accolades galore for his outstanding performance.  He did so well that Beyoncé invited him back in 2016 to appear on stage with her!  Even Ellen invited him back to her show to congratulate him on his amazing performance, and that’s when he became an inspiration to every young talent out there.
